Albrecht joined Docklands in November 2001 and became captain in 2002. He spent the 2004/05 season in the US at Berkeley University working on his PhD. He was voted the NVL's best player in the 2001/02 season. He hit the winning serve in the 2007 Cup Final, his last match for the club. He now lives and works in Barcelona.
